Havas Life has appointed João Camacho as Chief Creative Officer, India & Middle East, underlining the network’s focus on driving creative excellence across two of the world’s fastest-growing healthcare markets.
Based in Mumbai, Camacho will oversee creative strategy across India and the Middle East. He will report to Eric Weisberg, Global Chief Creative Officer, Havas Health, and Dorelle Kulkarni, Managing Director, Havas Life Mumbai.
With over 20 years of global experience in healthcare communications, Camacho brings a strong international perspective shaped by leadership roles across Africa, Europe, the UK, the US and the Middle East. Known for translating complex science into human-centred storytelling, he joins Havas Life from Publicis in Dubai, where he partnered with leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations on treatment launches, disease-awareness platforms and patient-first campaigns.
His work has been recognised at major global award platforms including FIAP, CCP and New York Festivals, and he has served as a jury member at Cannes Lions Health, CLIO Health, LIA Awards and The One Show.
Commenting on the appointment, Weisberg said Camacho’s global outlook, cultural sensitivity and belief in creativity as a force for progress make him a valuable addition as Havas Health continues to scale in India and the Middle East. Charles Houdoux, Global Chief Client Officer, Havas Health and CEO APAC-LATAM, added that the move reflects the network’s ambition to build world-class creative leadership locally while staying aligned with its global vision.
Kulkarni said Camacho’s blend of strategic thinking, empathy and creative confidence positions him well to lead in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape where clients increasingly seek deeper, more meaningful partnerships.
Camacho’s appointment comes amid strong global momentum for Havas Health and Havas Life, with continued investments in talent, innovation and AI-enabled creativity. His leadership is expected to play a key role in strengthening Havas Life’s creative offering across the region and delivering work that is both locally relevant and globally connected.
Expressing his excitement, Camacho said he looks forward to leading creative efforts across India and the Middle East, shaping campaigns that connect with audiences in meaningful ways and make a tangible impact in healthcare communications.
