Omnicom Group and The Interpublic Group of Companies are set to finalise their merger by the close of business on Wednesday, following the European Commission’s announcement on November 24 granting unconditional approval to the $13.25 billion all-stock deal.
This clearance marks the final regulatory milestone needed to complete the transaction, which will create the world’s largest marketing and sales company.
The merger, first announced last December, brings together Omnicom the world’s third-largest advertising buyer and Interpublic, the fourth-largest. The combined entity is expected to form the biggest global advertising agency at a time when legacy networks are increasingly pushed to compete with Big Tech players amid the accelerating rise of AI.
