Birla Opus Paints, part of the Aditya Birla Group’s Grasim Industries, has rolled out a new festive campaign in Tamil Nadu to mark Pongal, centred around its Birla Opus Style Colour Smart Interior range. The campaign highlights how vibrant, refreshed interiors can add warmth to festive occasions and enhance moments of togetherness during one of the region’s most important celebrations.

The film is set in a traditional joint-family household and follows a young newlywed couple as they get their home ready for Pongal. As conversations around selecting the right colour palette unfold, the narrative brings alive the impact of freshly painted interiors on the home’s look and feel. Everyday details such as kolam-making, festive décor and family interactions form the backdrop, capturing the essence of a Tamilian household during the festival.

An emotional turn in the story comes when the newly married daughter-in-law reminisces about celebrating Pongal with her own family. In a simple yet meaningful gesture, her husband surprises her by inviting her parents to join the festivities. The coming together of both families under one roof underscores the festival’s spirit of unity, renewal and shared joy.

The campaign closes with a message about “starting a new tradition” this Pongal, symbolising new beginnings and happiness.
