Kantar Media has appointed Mark Read, the former CEO of WPP, as chairman of its newly established Board of Directors after the company transitioned to ownership under H.I.G. Capital.

Read’s extensive career spans leadership roles across WPP, including helming Wunderman, guiding WPP’s digital expansion and championing key AI investments. His tenure from 2018 to 2025 as WPP’s CEO was marked by major strategic shifts and technology-led growth.

In his statement, Read highlighted Kantar Media’s critical role in helping stakeholders navigate rapidly evolving media consumption patterns. CEO Patrick Béhar praised Read’s strategic depth and his alignment with the company’s mission to simplify a complex media landscape.

H.I.G. Capital noted that Read’s appointment strengthens Kantar Media’s ability to accelerate innovation and global growth following its recent ownership change.
