Industry leaders have joined hands to establish the Artificial Intelligence Association of India (AIAI), a dedicated body aimed at promoting the responsible development and use of AI across the country. The governing board will be revealed shortly, with Sandeep Goyal, Managing Director of Rediffusion, appointed as the national convenor.

Designed to function at the crossroads of innovation, policy, and cultural preservation, AIAI will bring together experts from diverse creative sectors including design, advertising, film, gaming, music, publishing, and emerging tech to shape the future of Creative AI in India.

Goyal emphasised that AI is already reshaping industries. “India cannot remain a passive consumer in this revolution. With AIAI, we want to build ethical and institutional frameworks that empower India’s creative industries to grow with AI while protecting language, culture, livelihoods, and imagination. This is India’s moment to lead, not follow.”

Key Objectives of AIAI

1. Policy & Advocacy
Engage with MeitY, DPIIT, and NITI Aayog to represent creative industries in AI-related policymaking.

2. Ethical Standards
Develop certification systems to ensure ethical AI practices across film, advertising, music, and design.

3. Skilling & Inclusion
Launch nationwide programs to train 10,000+ creative professionals in AI by 2026.

4. R&D & Innovation
Support creation of India-centric AI tools for content generation, translation, personalisation, and storytelling.

5. Creative IP Protection
Lead efforts to safeguard artist attribution, address deepfake challenges, and modernise copyright norms for AI-generated content.

AIAI will be led by a multidisciplinary board comprising technologists, creators, policy experts, legal specialists, and educators. The organisation aims to act as a policy think tank, innovation incubator, and industry forum to drive responsible AI adoption while protecting India’s creative identity and talent in the AI era.
