Luxury sneaker brand Golden Goose marked a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship with the launch of an exclusive collaboration with Indian couturier Manish Malhotra at its Mumbai flagship store.

The partnership introduces two limited-edition sneakers co-designed by Malhotra, alongside a bespoke in-store Co-Creation experience curated by the designer himself. The collection made its debut during a special event held on December 11 at the brand’s flagship location, bringing together fashion, artistry and personalisation.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Malhotra has reshaped Indian fashion as a costume designer, entrepreneur and revivalist, creating some of Bollywood’s most iconic looks. His influence was reflected in the sneaker designs, which merge Golden Goose’s Italian craftsmanship with his signature sense of opulence and detail.

The women’s sneaker features a white-cream suede base adorned with delicate gold floral embroidery, while the men’s version carries the same intricate motif on a black suede silhouette. Both styles showcase Malhotra’s refined aesthetic elegant, expressive and rooted in artisanal tradition.

Guests at the launch were invited to collaborate with Golden Goose’s artisans, known as Dream Makers, to personalise their sneakers through the brand’s Co-Creation process. From interchangeable tongues to crystal charms and brooches, each detail allowed clients to create truly one-of-a-kind pairs, reinforcing the exclusivity of the collaboration.

Speaking about the partnership, Malhotra said the project was about blending his own design journey with Golden Goose’s heritage. “I wanted to experiment with embroideries and floral motifs in a new way, bringing the spirit of Indian craftsmanship together with Italian design,” he shared.

The celebrations extended beyond the store with an evening party and live DJ set by Nida Merchant, attended by a host of notable guests including Aryan Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Sara Tendulkar, Kanika Kapoor, Masaba Gupta, Pratibha Ranta, Nandita Mahtani and Dino Morea.

The limited-edition co-designed sneakers will be available in select quantities starting soon, adding a collectible edge to this cross-cultural fashion collaboration.
