Nissan has appointed Massimiliano (Max) Messina as Chairperson of its AMIEO region (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania), effective October 1, 2025. Currently Vice Chairperson and SVP of Finance, Administration & Strategy, Messina will oversee operations across 140 countries, five plants, 13,000 employees, and 26 models.

The move supports Nissan’s Re:Nissan recovery plan and follows strong launches of models like Patrol and Magnite, with four new EVs set to debut in Europe. Messina succeeds Guillaume Cartier, who will now focus on global responsibilities.

Victorino (Vito) Esnaola has been named SVP, Finance & IT for AMIEO, reporting to Messina. Cartier said their leadership will drive transformation, streamline decision-making, and strengthen alignment with Nissan’s global recovery goals, which target profitability and positive cash flow by FY26.
