Reliance Industries is reshaping India’s media and entertainment space through JioStar and JioHotstar. At its 48th AGM, Mukesh Ambani highlighted that JioStar, its joint venture with Disney, has built a 3.2 lakh-hour content library within months, six times larger than competitors, while integrating AI to transform storytelling and delivery.
JioHotstar has crossed 600 million users in three months, including 300 million paid subscribers, making it the world’s second-largest streaming platform. Reliance also introduced AI-led innovations such as RIYA (voice-enabled assistant), Voice Print (AI dubbing with voice cloning), JioLenZ (personalized viewing), and MaxView 3.0 (enhanced cricket experience).
Disney CEO Bob Iger praised the partnership, calling India a vital market and JioStar a global entertainment force. With 34% TV market share and ambitions to reach a billion screens, Reliance aims to position JioStar and JioHotstar as global leaders in digital entertainment.
