Omnicom and Interpublic have cleared a major regulatory hurdle as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) concluded its antitrust review of Omnicom’s proposed acquisition of Interpublic. The FTC granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, subject to a 30-day public comment period.

Both companies expressed optimism, calling the development a key step toward finalizing the deal and combining their complementary strengths to better serve clients through integrated marketing, technology, and data solutions. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
