OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their partnership to build 4.5 GW of new Stargate AI data center capacity across the U.S., aiming to strengthen America’s AI leadership and create over 100,000 jobs. Combined with the ongoing Stargate I project in Abilene, Texas, OpenAI now has over 5 GW of AI infrastructure in development—enough to power 2 million advanced AI chips.

This effort is part of OpenAI’s broader $500B+ investment commitment announced earlier this year, which it now expects to exceed. Construction at Abilene is already underway, with Oracle delivering Nvidia GB200 racks to support early AI workloads. OpenAI is also progressing partnerships with SoftBank and CoreWeave, while Microsoft continues providing essential cloud support. The initiative has received strong support from the White House and global partners.
