OpenAI is building an AI-powered hiring platform called the OpenAI Jobs Platform to better match businesses with workers. Announced by Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications, the platform will also include a track for small businesses and local governments to access AI talent.

Part of OpenAI’s push beyond ChatGPT, the platform could rival LinkedIn, Microsoft’s professional network, while also tying into OpenAI’s Academy, which plans to launch AI fluency certifications later in 2025. OpenAI is already working with Walmart to help certify 10 million Americans by 2030.

While critics warn AI could disrupt many jobs, OpenAI says its goal is to ease the transition by boosting AI skills and connecting talent to opportunities.
