Snap Inc., the parent of Snapchat, has acquired Saturn Technologies, a popular social calendar app among U.S. high-school and college students, to deepen engagement with Gen Z. Saturn will continue as a standalone app, with most of its 30-member team joining Snap.
While Snapchat sees strong growth among Gen Z in India, it still struggles to attract major ad spends due to weak localization, limited creator networks, and inconsistent ad performance—lagging behind rivals like Instagram, YouTube, Moj, and ShareChat in advertisers’ media plans.
