The Coca-Cola Company has announced a planned leadership transition, appointing Henrique Braun as its next Chief Executive Officer. Braun, who currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed James Quincey, with Quincey moving into the role of Executive Chairman after nine years leading the company.

As part of the succession plan, Coca-Cola’s board also intends to nominate Braun for election to the company’s board of directors at the next annual meeting of shareholders, further formalising the leadership change.

Quincey’s tenure as CEO has been marked by a significant transformation of the business. Under his leadership, Coca-Cola evolved into a total beverage company, added more than ten billion-dollar brands to its portfolio, modernised its operating model, accelerated digital transformation and successfully navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his new role as CEO, Braun will focus on unlocking global growth opportunities, deepening consumer-centric strategies and using technology to drive performance. A Coca-Cola veteran since 1996, Braun has held senior leadership roles across multiple regions, including Latin America, Brazil, Greater China and South Korea, with experience spanning supply chain, marketing, innovation, general management and bottling operations. Raised in Brazil, Braun holds degrees in agricultural engineering, science and business administration.
