Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has announced that Chief Technology Officer Stephen Liang will retire on January 1, 2026, after more than three decades of service. Liang has been pivotal in shaping Vertiv’s technology vision, from his early days at Emerson to leading innovation initiatives at Vertiv. Earlier this year, he transitioned to focus solely on his CTO responsibilities, driving the company’s global technology strategy.
“Stephen’s contributions have been instrumental in positioning Vertiv as a technology innovator,” said Gio Albertazzi, CEO, Vertiv. “His leadership and vision have left a lasting impact that will continue to shape our success.”
Upon Liang’s retirement, Scott Armul will assume an expanded role as Chief Product and Technology Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Currently serving as Executive Vice President, Global Portfolio and Business Units, Armul will oversee the Technology Office along with engineering, R&D, and Vertiv’s business units.
This strategic alignment aims to strengthen the link between technology development and business strategy, enhancing Vertiv’s ability to meet evolving customer needs.
Armul, who joined Vertiv in 2009, has held multiple leadership and technical roles across the organization, gaining deep insights into the company’s operations and markets. His elevation reflects Vertiv’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
