Cannes Lions 2025 has received 26,900 award submissions from 96 markets, marking a strong global turnout and highlighting a shift in the creative industry toward design, B2B, and social impact. Key growth areas include:
- Glass: The Lion for Change – up 53%, driven by intersectional, purpose-led work
- Design Lions – up 17%, reflecting design’s strategic value
- Creative B2B – up 13%, signaling creativity’s rise in business sectors
- Entertainment Lions for Sport – up 15%
- Strategy Track – up 10%, showing ongoing focus on measurable results
Independent agencies also saw an 18% rise in entries, emphasizing that innovation isn’t limited to large networks. LATAM submissions increased 16% year-on-year, and creator-led content made up 18% of entries in the new Social & Creator Lions sub-categories.
Festival juries have begun deliberations, with major award shortlists to be released June 14–18. Winners will be announced nightly from June 16 to 20.
