Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced that Tarun Garg will become its next MD & CEO, effective January 1, 2026, succeeding Unsoo Kim, who will return to South Korea for a strategic role at Hyundai Motor Company. Kim’s tenure ends December 31, 2025, and the board thanked him for his contributions.
Garg, currently a Whole-time Director at HMIL, will serve as MD & CEO designate until the formal transition, pending shareholder approval. With over 20 years in the automotive industry, he is a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi Technological University and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. Garg previously held senior leadership roles at Maruti Suzuki, including Executive Director of Marketing, Logistics, Parts, and Accessories.
