Season 2 of the captivating reality series becomes Prime Video’s No. 1 non-English title worldwide in launch week
Prime Video’s The Traitors Season 2 has emerged as the No. 1 non-English title worldwide on the streaming service during its launch week.
Premiering on August 13, the second season also ranked among the Top 10 Prime Original series worldwide, drawing audiences into the show’s game of trust, deception and betrayal between the ‘Innocents’ and the ‘Traitors’.
The strong launch, positive fan response and critical appreciation highlight the growing global appeal of Indian unscripted entertainment and reality storytelling.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video (SVOD) and Amazon MGM Studios India, said the response to the second season has been encouraging, with the show generating strong engagement and conversations across social media. He added that audiences have been actively choosing sides, supporting their favourite players and developing theories around the show’s twists and eliminations.
Host and producer Karan Johar said the response to the first three episodes reflected the audience’s enjoyment of the show’s deception and unpredictability. He added that the season will bring more paranoia, plotting, betrayal and unexpected decisions as the game progresses.
The second season features 21 celebrity players from diverse fields, including Aaditya Kulshreshth, Abhishek Malhan, Ansh Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Ikka Singh, Karan Singh Magic, Krystle D’Souza, Mallika Sherawat, Munawar Faruqui, Parul Gulati, Prish, Ranveer Brar, Rhea Chakraborty, Rida Tharana, Sahil Salathia, Shahneel Gill, Shalini Passi, Shweta Tiwari, Soundous Moufakir and Tanya Puri.
Set against the backdrop of Suryagarh Palace, the series revolves around the Traitors, who are secretly selected from among the players, and the Innocents, who must identify and eliminate them before they are themselves taken out of the game. As alliances shift and suspicions grow, the players must navigate a competition where trusting the wrong person can change the outcome.
Season 2 is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment in collaboration with independent distributor All3Media International, based on IDTV’s BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning global format.
