Motorola has announced a key leadership transition in its marketing team, appointing Ipshita Chowdhury as Marketing Head, India, while elevating Gagandeep Bedi to the role of Asia Pacific Marketing Strategy and Operations Lead.
In her new role, Chowdhury will oversee Motorola’s marketing strategy and integrated initiatives across India, with a focus on strengthening brand salience and accelerating growth in a highly competitive smartphone market. She succeeds Bedi, who has been instrumental in driving the brand’s recent momentum in India and will now take on a broader regional mandate. Both executives will report to Shivam Ranjan, Head of Marketing, Motorola Asia Pacific.
Chowdhury brings over two decades of marketing leadership experience across telecom, automobile and FMCG sectors. Over the years, she has held senior roles at organisations including Nokia, Microsoft, Philips Lighting and Valvoline Cummins, where she led integrated brand-building initiatives, category development strategies and high-impact campaigns. She is a well-recognised voice in the Indian marketing ecosystem and an active contributor to industry forums.
During his tenure as Marketing Head, India, Bedi played a key role in strengthening Motorola’s brand positioning and accelerating the expansion of its premium portfolio. In his new APAC role, he will work closely with regional leadership and country marketing heads to shape strategy, drive operational excellence and unlock growth opportunities across both mature and emerging markets.
Commenting on the leadership changes, Ranjan said India continues to be a critical growth market for Motorola, and the new structure will help build stronger strategic alignment across Asia Pacific while sustaining momentum locally. Chowdhury said she is excited to join Motorola at a time of strong growth and looks forward to building deeper consumer connections and contributing to the brand’s continued expansion in India.
Motorola India has been witnessing steady growth, driven by an expanding product portfolio, premium design differentiation and a strong focus on consumer experience, reinforcing its position as one of the faster-growing players in India’s smartphone landscape.
