Uber Ads is set to launch its advertising business directly in India and has appointed Arpit Tyagi as Country Head to lead its operations in the market.

Tyagi joins Uber from The Trade Desk, where he served as Director. He brings extensive experience across digital advertising, retail media, and brand marketing, having previously held roles at Amazon and Pernod Ricard.

Uber Ads enables brands to connect with consumers across Uber’s ecosystem, including its ride-hailing and food delivery platforms. The company has been steadily expanding its advertising business globally and is now establishing a dedicated leadership team in India as it looks to strengthen its presence in the country’s growing digital advertising market.

The appointment comes amid the rapid rise of retail media, with platforms across e-commerce, food delivery, mobility, and commerce increasingly investing in advertising solutions to help brands reach consumers at key moments of intent and engagement.

With Tyagi at the helm, Uber Ads is expected to focus on expanding advertiser partnerships and building its advertising offering in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital advertising markets.
