Nationwide Fan Campaign to Bring Doraemon’s Undersea Adventure to Life Across India

Mumbai, India; June 18, 2026:  One of the world’s most beloved animated franchises is set to arrive in Indian theatres as TV Asahi and PVR INOX Pictures bring Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil to the big screen for audiences across the country. The film will release in cinemas across India on October 2, 2026, bringing an exciting underwater adventure of friendship, courage, and discovery to audiences nationwide. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, allowing fans across multiple regions to experience the story in their local languages. The India release will also feature a nationwide fan engagement campaign led by Black White Orange (BWO).

This film is based on the original manga by FUJIKO F FUJIO, the legendary creator of the Doraemon series, whose beloved characters and imaginative storytelling have captivated generations of readers and viewers around the world.

The theatrical release is being led by TV Asahi and PVR INOX Pictures, India’s leading theatrical distribution studio, with Black White Orange (BWO, India’s leading licensing & brand consulting agency) leading the film’s fan engagement, consumer experience, and promotional activations, with strategic consulting and market advisory support from Happening 365 Synergies.

As part of nationwide Doraemon campaign rollout, the character will make its first public appearance at CORE, India’s pop culture festival organized by BWO, taking place on June 20 and 21, 2026 at the Jio World Convention Center, Mumbai. Visitors will be able to experience a special Doraemon zone featuring themed installations, interactive fan engagement activities, photo opportunities, and a Doraemon inflatable. The campaign will span school contact programmes, digital media, outdoor advertising, mall activations and immersive fan experiences, marking a significant and ambitious theatrical campaign for the franchise in India.

ABOUT THE FILM

When Nobita and his friends can’t decide on where to go for their summer camping trip, they follow Doraemon’s suggestion and decide to camp in the middle of the ocean!

With the Secret Gadgets “Underwater Buggy” and “Adapting Ray,” they enjoy an undersea camping trip while encountering all kinds of sea creatures.

Their discovery of a sunken ship leads them to a mysterious young man named El. He is a “Sea Dweller” who lives in the vast undersea nation known as the “Mu Federation.”

But because the Sea Dwellers distrust “Ground Dwellers,” gaining their trust won’t be easy.

Just then, an urgent message arrives: “The Castle of the Undersea Devil… has awakened!”

What exactly is the “Castle of the Undersea Devil” that the Sea Dwellers fear so much?

Believing in one another, Nobita and his friends dive into a grand adventure and battle that will determine the fate of the Earth!
