Tata Motors has appointed automotive industry veteran Ejaz Takey as Head of SUV Marketing, strengthening its leadership team as competition intensifies in India’s fast-growing SUV segment.

Takey announced his move through a LinkedIn post, marking the end of a 15-year stint at Mahindra & Mahindra, where he held several leadership roles across brand management, product marketing, sales operations and customer engagement.

Most recently, Takey was responsible for leading brand campaigns and corporate branding initiatives across Mahindra’s utility vehicle portfolio. During his tenure, he also managed key brands including Scorpio and contributed to the growth of products such as Bolero, Supro Maxitruck and Supro Minitruck.

His experience extends beyond marketing, having overseen dealership sales processes and customer satisfaction programs across Mahindra’s North and East markets.

Prior to Mahindra, Takey gained experience with Nissan Motor India as a Student Brand Manager and completed an internship with automotive publication Autocar India. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Marketing from the Welingkar Institute of Management.

Commenting on the transition, Takey said he was looking forward to the opportunities that come with joining Tata Motors and beginning a new chapter in his automotive career.

The appointment comes at a strategic time for Tata Motors as the company continues to strengthen its SUV portfolio and consolidate its position in India’s highly competitive automotive market.
