Daniel Shapero has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of LinkedIn, marking a new leadership phase for the platform.
Shapero has been closely associated with LinkedIn since 2008, when he joined as one of its early employees. Over the years, he has held several key leadership roles across product, sales and business functions, contributing to the company’s growth and evolution.
Before becoming CEO, he served as Chief Operating Officer, where he led product, sales, marketing, operations and customer success teams. His earlier roles include Chief Business Officer, VP Product and VP Global Sales for Talent Solutions, giving him a strong end-to-end understanding of the business.
In his new role, Shapero emphasised LinkedIn’s core mission of creating economic opportunity for professionals, while also highlighting the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work. He shared that his initial focus will be on engaging closely with employees, members, creators and customers to shape the next phase of growth.
Outside of LinkedIn, Shapero has also been active as an advisor and investor across multiple companies. Earlier in his career, he worked with Bain & Company and gained experience in product marketing and entrepreneurship.
