Havas Media Network India has appointed Tabassum Modi as Chief Content Officer and Head of Havas Play India, strengthening its leadership team as it accelerates growth across content, entertainment, sports and social marketing.

Based in Mumbai, Modi will report to Mohit Joshi, CEO, Havas Media Network India, and oversee the four key verticals under Havas Play India – Content, Entertainment, Sports and Social. She will also work closely with leaders across the Havas Media Network India ecosystem. Uday Mohan will continue to lead the core business as Chief Operating Officer of Havas Media India.

Launched in India in 2023, Havas Play serves as the network’s dedicated entertainment, sports, culture and content division, bringing together capabilities across content, influencers, experiential marketing, fandom and partnerships. The division has rapidly expanded its presence through strategic collaborations and award-winning campaigns across sports, entertainment and branded content.

As part of its next phase of growth, Havas Play has introduced a strengthened leadership structure. Modi will lead the overall vision and operations of the division, while Prachi Narayan continues to oversee Content and Entertainment as Managing Partner. Uditvanu Das will lead the Sports vertical, Kapil Nair will head the Social practice, Shruti Rajkumar will drive Partnerships and Growth, and Debojit Banerjee will oversee Sales with support from an expanding regional team.

Commenting on the appointment, Mohit Joshi said Modi’s experience in content strategy, business leadership and scaling media businesses would play a crucial role in accelerating Havas Play’s growth ambitions and delivering culture-led brand experiences.

Modi joins Havas from Omnicom Media Group and brings more than two decades of experience across media, entertainment, digital platforms and education. Throughout her career, she has led large-scale content businesses, developed IP-driven revenue models, launched OTT platforms, built strategic partnerships with leading brands and successfully scaled content-led ventures.

Speaking on her new role, Modi said Havas Play’s position at the intersection of sport, entertainment, content, community and culture presents a unique opportunity to create impactful brand experiences. She also highlighted the strength of the Havas Village model, which enables integrated collaboration across disciplines to deliver meaningful business outcomes for clients.

The appointment reflects Havas Media Network India’s continued investment in content, entertainment and culture-driven marketing as it looks to strengthen Havas Play’s position in the evolving media and marketing landscape.
