Commercial advertising intensity during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 increased significantly, with per-match ad volumes rising 39% compared to the 2023 edition, according to a report by TAM Sports.
Despite the growth in advertising intensity, overall ad volumes across the tournament fell 26% compared to the 2024 edition. The report attributed the decline to India’s exit before the semi-finals, resulting in fewer high-viewership matches.
India fixtures continued to attract stronger advertiser interest, generating 58% higher ad volumes than non-India matches. Advertising activity also peaked during the knockout stage, with the 2026 final recording a 17% increase in ad volumes per match per channel over the 2024 final.
The tournament witnessed broader advertiser participation, with the number of advertisers increasing 41%, from 22 in 2024 to 31 in 2026. The number of advertising categories also grew 13%, reaching 27 categories, while the number of participating brands remained largely stable at 39, compared to 40 in the previous edition.
Among advertising categories, Personal Care/Health & Wellness Products and Biscuits led the chart, each contributing 15% of total ad volumes. Google emerged as the leading advertiser with a 16% share, followed by Coca-Cola India and Amway India, each accounting for 11% of ad volumes. The report also noted a complete change in the top five advertisers compared to the 2024 tournament.
Short-duration commercials dominated advertising inventory during the tournament. Ads with durations of 11–20 seconds accounted for 60% of total ad volumes, followed by 21–40 second commercials at 32%, while ads of 10 seconds or less contributed 7% of the total inventory.
