YouTube has expanded its Premium Lite pilot to India at Rs 89 per month, providing an affordable way to enjoy ad-free videos on phones, laptops, and TVs. The plan covers most content, including dramas, podcasts, and gaming streams, though ads may still appear on music, Shorts, and during searches.

This launch comes as YouTube Music and Premium surpass 125 million global subscribers, reflecting strong demand for ad-free experiences. Premium Lite is aimed at users who want the majority of content without interruptions, while full Premium is recommended for ad-free music, offline playback, and background play.

The rollout is gradually expanding across India in the coming weeks, following a testing phase to optimize features for viewers seeking a mostly ad-free experience. YouTube positions Premium Lite as a budget-friendly alternative to access uninterrupted content across devices.
